Parent Workshop (Middle School Experiences: What Caregivers Should Know)- LMS Cafeteria

I am excited to share with you that Dr. Marya Bamaca from UC Merced has agreed to provide two 1.5 hour presentations for parents of middle school students on Wednesday, Feb 22th and Wednesday, March 1st from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.  Dr. Bamaca will be facilitating bilingual presentations on topics relevant to parents of pre-adolescents/adolescents.  Dr. Bamaca has conducted extensive research with a focus on immigrant families with adolescents, largely focused on Latinx families. She is also the parent of a teenager. Earlier this month she facilitated a session for LUSD parents of TK-5h grade students at Selma Herndon. Participating parents really appreciated her presentation on fostering academic success in elementary school.
